Friday Five. It may be informational, entertaining, inspirational, or some combination. It may be five related thoughts, or five random topics. But it will be short. And it will leave you with a new thought, idea, or smile on your face.
1. Customize your anniversary card. Or any other card – for about the same price you’d pay for a generic one. This site also has gift options that can be personalized.
2. ‘6 Essential Ingredients for a Long, Happy Marriage.’ Dennise Sleeper shares her suggestions for staying connected with your spouse in her article on the ‘familyshare’ blog. Click here to read.
3. Why it’s good for you to write things down:
4. Is chivalry dead? One guy doesn’t think so. Check out James Micheal Sama’s article 8 Acts of Chivalry to Bring Back. Written by a guy talking to guys.
5. Marriage truism:
Oh, Shel, this is a delight!
Jim and I are still smiling and nudging each other over #5–the marriage truism, and #3–the password anniversary date.
A big part of our survival and happiness comes from laughter–even at ourselves and the things we recognize about ourselves in cartoons, etc.–and when things get overwhelming and we’re not laughing, we know it’s take to get away together and get some perspective.
Great post!
Thanks, Marylin! I think as long as we can both recognize ourselves AND keep laughing we are in very good shape! Speaking of recognizing ourselves (and I am only speaking for myself on this one) have you checked out http://www.fatbottomfiftiesgetfierce.com yet?
I love this Friday Five section!
fun ideas as usual…
Thanks, Lin – I was tickled to see that article on chivalry – and to have confirmed that it’s NOT dead (just missing in action a lot!) Hope you have a great week!
Your Friday Fives always make me smile!
😀
Glad to hear that, Sonia – the concept was inspired by a dear friend!
Loved the cartoons and happy to say my guy does all the chivalry stuff (most of the time) 😀
I know I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again anyway – you’ve got a Keeper!
Shel, I just love your blogs. They are great.
DiAne
Thanks, DiAne – you’ve made my day! Hope you have a great weekend!
That chivalry one is so good I had to comment although 1000 people had already done so!
Yah – Mr. Sama has some good stuff. That article should be required reading for everybody under 40!
The anniversary card is priceless. It’s so me … I think I know what everyone’s thinking, especially John.
I knew you were going to say that, Kim! (Get it? I read your mind? I know – pretty lame!) Have a good weekend!
If I don’t write it down, things don’t get done, purchased or accessed. What a cute comic!
Have a great weekend, Shel!
I’m good about writing things down – it’s remembering where I put what I wrote that is challenging! (I guess that’s for the other blog!) Hope you enjoy your weekend, too, Jill!
Yes, I think that’s definitely another post. I’m trying to find my grocery list for tomorrow right now!
